Double bill of comedies from director Todd Phillips. In 'The Hangover' (2009) Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis star as three friends who lose their best friend, Doug (Justin Bartha), just 40 hours before his wedding during the various drunken misadventures that occur at his Las Vegas bachelor party. The trio must attempt to retrace all the bad decisions they made the night before and figure out where things went wrong. Heather Graham co-stars. In the sequel, 'The Hangover: Part 2' (2011), Alan (Galifianakis), Doug (Bartha), Phil (Cooper) and Stu (Helms) jet out to Bangkok for Stu's wedding to his Thai girlfriend (Jamie Chung). With the mortifying memories of Doug's bachelor party in Las Vegas forever etched in everyone's minds, Stu decides to play things safe. Surely nothing can go wrong with a sedate pre-wedding brunch... or can it? The supporting cast includes Liam Neeson and Juliette Lewis, while former president Bill Clinton makes a cameo appearance.
When Benjamin Franklin Burdett and his son Arthur developed their streetcar suburb of Brookwood Hills in 1922, they chose land on the cusp of change, straddling the city and county line. The area, once populated by Native Americans, was the site of the opening shots of the bloody Battle of Peachtree Creek on July 20, 1864. Affluent homeowners in the early 20th century made this stretch of Peachtree Street, named "Brookwood" after society doyenne Emma Thompson's country mansion, one of Atlanta's most elegant neighborhoods. Today, Brookwood Hills, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is a leafy enclave of 350 homes within the city of Atlanta. Visitors call it an urban oasis; to city planners, it is a premier example of traditional neighborhood design. To the generations of families who have grown up in its homes, played at its park and pool, joined its clubs, and fought its battles, Brookwood Hills is something much more--it is their hometown.
Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd star in this romantic comedy directed and co-written by David Wain. Joel (Rudd) is an executive at a confectionary corporation that is trying to close down Molly (Poehler)'s small, independent sweet shop. Given the circumstances, when they meet they instantly take a disliking to each other. Over time a mutual attraction develops between them but they find that their work is not the only obstacle in their way of finding romance. While dining out with friends Kyle (Bill Hader) and Karen (Ellie Kemper), they recount the story of how they met and got together. The cast also features Cobie Smulders, Ed Helms and Jack McBrayer.
